Lincoln Wheat Penny Auction Description: 1922 No D Lincoln Wheat Penny PCGS VF30 STRONG REVERSE!About a month or so ago, a person at work asked me to look at a few folders of wheat pennies to see if I see anything that might be worth something. He said they have been in his desk for a long time and by looking at the folders, they haven't been touched since 1969 since the newest coin in the book was a shiny 1969 penny. After looking through this partial set of coins, I looked closely at the 1922 knowing that I would see the "D" or a weak "D". I looked again and could not see it! I immediately knew he had something here so I went ahead and sent the coin off for grading. I got the coin back yesterday and he wants me to sell it. Lincoln Wheat Penny Auction Description: New Page 1FULL 5000 BANK BAG 1910s-1920s-1930s Wheat cent pennies teens 5000 count bank bag wheat cents all teens, twenties, and thirties. I grabbed several handfuls to do a composite sample of the dates. There is a very even mix of all three decades with every sample. The samples we checked were almost even one third for each respective decade. The bag was marked with 5000 pre-40 Wheaties when I received it. I also counted the bag and double checked by weight so the count is also correct. Therefore, I am guaranteeing that this bag is as stated "5000 count bank bag wheat cents all teens, twenties, and thirties". I do not have time to check every date, but my spot checks confirm the bag is marked correctly. From what I see listed on EBay now, this bag is probably the best bag on the auction! Just in time for Christmas. Also, please check my other auctions as I have more of the pennies and a few coins listed too.

This coin, in our opinion is in ABOUT UNCIRCULATED condition with wonderful details and strong date. Unfortunately the coin has some corrosion. Very hard to find in higher grades. The Lincoln Wheat Ears Cent (sometimes referred to as a Wheat penny, a Wheatback, a Wheat Head, or a Wheatie) was produced from 1909 to 1958. Both the obverse and the reverse were designed by Victor David Brenner, a New York sculptor. Brenner's initials, V.D.B., were included on the reverse of the coin below the two stylized wheat stalks on a limited number of the coins until public controversy forced their removal. Brenner's initials were restored to the obverse, below Lincoln's shoulder, in 1918. What an excellent addition to any Lincoln Wheat Penny collection.
